So i have a hp compaq 6300 pro sff (small form factor) with a i5 3470 4gb ram and 240 watts power supply. The power supply cant be upgraded due to size in the computer so i cant upgrade to the 1050 ti i want comfortably (also due to not wanting to put another hot component in a small case). So i was wondering if i would be able to remove everything including the motherboard from the hp compaq pro 6300 sff and place it in a new case that i can fit a larger power supply in so that i have enough power for the 1050 ti?

Understood.

The problem is HP are using proprietary power connectors on the PSU's and MB's in their SFF and Mini Tower PC's, so you will not be able to power the motherboard using a PSU that is not purchased from HP.

The problem is due to the design of the psu the largest available one is only 240 watts which isnt enough to run a 1050ti. this is because the hp is a small form factor. So i was planning on taking it all out putting it into a new case and getting a new psu so that there is enough power.

The GTX 1050 ti uses 75w and is powered via the PCIe slot only. Your 240w PSU should (on the limit) be able to power it provided you can fit a 1050 ti in your case.

I have a i5 3470 PC and without OC and a GPU it never draws more than 120w.

Thanks. I dont really want to run a 1050ti on the limit in a small case with little air flow so i was just hoping to save some money by not having to buy a motherboard.
