Will GTX 750 ti work in my system which Has PSU of about 290 watts?

I wanted to know if gtx 750 ti will work on My pc ... having 290watt power supply and its has no pci e connector. I use dell optiplex 9020

It's gonna be super tight, but if it's a high qualith 290w psu then you should be able to make it work.
I have a few questions then i can give you a more precise answer.
What is the model name of the psu?
What version of the gpu are you going to buy?

Is your Optiplex 9020 the MT version or SFF? If you aren't sure. which computer does it look like from this photo (left or middle).

If it is the SFF version, the best GPU you'd be able to get is the GT 1030, as the PCIe x16 slot is power limited to 35w. If it the MT version the PCIe x16 slot supports the standard 75w, allowing for a GPU as high tier as GTX 1050ti. If that is the case the 750ti would also work.

Looking at your PSU wattage, it seems to be the MT version. It seem to be compatible, just make sure the GPU you get is below 16.7cm, and install the GPU to the blue PCIe slot (not black).

As long as you get one which doesn't require a 6 pin PCIe connector (if it doesn't have port). Also, the GTX 750ti's right now are overpriced. You could get a much better performing card in most scenarios for the same price. What is your budget and location/retailers purchasing from?

the 750 ti is obsolete, a gtx 1050 should be around the same price and is a lot better.

Just make sure to buy a version that does NOT require a 6-pin from the power supply and it should run

they are ~75w cards that run on the power from the pcie slot alone =)

Make sure to get a small sized one!

1. the power requirements for a GTX 1050ti (no 6pin) is 300w
2. the power requirements for a GTX 1050 (require power connection) is 300w
3. the power requirements for a GTX 750ti is 300w

technically speaking, you will be stressing your power supply, can you do it, sure, will you be looking for another power supply in 6 months... my bet yes.
why dont you just upgrade the power supply to a 500w and get a nice 1060 or a 980ti?

That PSU has been used by many successfully 75w gpu upgrades. PSU recommendations are based on worst case scenarios, the actual power consumption is far less than 300w.

The Dell PSU won't be an issue. They are very conservatively rated. Aftermarket PSUs tend to overstate their power ratings, but Dell business customers want low power comsumption. A Dell 305W PSU when tested earned a 400W rating. Aftermarket uses Peak Watts. Dell uses a continiuos rating.
95W CPU + 75W GPU= 160W. That leaves 130W for the little stuff.
