Based on what, exactly? The first website is the actual manufacturer of the motherboard. I'd rely on a firsthand list of compatible CPUs from the manufacturer before a secondhand retelling of the firsthand list of compatible CPUs.

And? CPUs that aren't officially supported sometimes work, they sometimes don't - that you had an unsupported CPU work isn't all that probative.

But don't take my work for it, take CPU-Upgrade's own words.

To determine part numbers for the ASRock N68C-GS FX motherboard we used best guess approach based on CPU model, frequency and features. In some cases our guess may be incorrect or incomplete. Please always verify part numbers before committing to buying the CPU.[/blockquote]

Yeah, another CPU may work, but it's just an educated guess, not a guarantee.

But regardless, it seems that you weren't actually here to ask a question, given that you've already decided on the answer, so I'll unfollow this thread now.

IMO, you are NOT here to ask a question. Why, because a legitimate answer was given with a reputable source as the backing for that answer and you choose to disregard it. You have an answer you like and are looking for confirmation. That is different than asking a question.
