so i'm going to overclock my amd athlon x4 870k and i followed this guide but some the setting that he turns off and changes I don't have. so I'd like to know what to turn off for me? I turned off the setting that he did, that I had and changed the things I have that he changed. and manage to overclock my cpu but is it fine like that?
(I did not do anything to the voltages I just overclocked it to 4.2 GHZ)
Specs. amd athlon x4 870k Black Edition
cooler : cryorig M9A
mobo : asus A88xm-E
GPU : Asus Gtx 750 ti OC
SSD : HyperX Fury 480Gb
Ram : HyperX Savage 1600MHz 1x8Gb
PSU : Corsair VS 450

If you haven't touched the voltages, they're on "Auto" by default - which, with an OC, could well push them into 'unsafe' voltage territory.

FWIW, that chip 'boosts' to 4.1GHz (vs the 'stock' 3.9GHz) - so I'd be very surprised if you'd even notice a performance difference in that +100MHz over stock boost.

Equally, considering the 'boost' of 4.1GHz, 4.2 isn't likely to require a significant increase in voltage, even on Auto - but you can monitor the usage with something like HWMonitor.

ok, where do I set the voltages to manual. i found somewhere in the bios where you could put in voltages but when i put in 1.475 which is the normal it went down to 0.2 something
