Wait for ddr5 ram or buy the current ddr4

I went to upgrade to a gaming laptop. So should I go with ddr4 memory or wait for ddr5 memory to release next year.

RAM is the least influencing factor for a pc's performance unless you are doing particularly RAM sensitive task, or using such software. And for games it matters even less than that. Waiting for DDR5 to launch doesnt really make any sense. Your gaming performance will depends on mostly the CPU and GPU you purchase with whichever RAM is compatible with that.

Theres no point waiting for ddr5 ram as you would need a new laptop in order to use it
They aren't interchangeable

Also while the ddr5 standard will be finalised next year it will be at least 2-3 years before it comes to motherboards
