Hey guys, I currently have an fx 6300 and i am looking to upgrade. I dont know if i should go with the ryzen 1600, 1600x or the intel i-7600K. Next, If i do choose to go the ryzen path, which motherboard should i get? Based on the reviews i read, i believe the msi tomahawk and the gigabyte gaming 3 are the two best. Which would you recommend and why?

Thanks in advance!

CX 600 is not a very reliable unit, keep that in mind. When you see some potential breaking down in PSU, get a reliable one, evga super nova g2+ or seasonic fully modular ones :)

My suggestion:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor ($194.88 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: MSI - B350 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard ($70.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($156.34 @ Newegg Marketplace)
Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB GAMING Video Card ($259.99 @ B&H)
Total: $682.19
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available...

i have sapphire r7 370 4 gb. budget 600 for cpu motherboard and ram. I notice that my cpu lags during games so want more of a fluid experience. Even during regular streaming it might be a tad slow.

Sell your old parts and should keep you 600 even or less :) You will feel gaming and streaming all smooth :) If you don't have more than 600 cash. Get everything except gpu. After upgrade, sell you old parts for >$80 on ebay, and buy gpu later :)

Hey i live in canada so i believe the prices are alot higher than that. right now 1600x is 249 and 1600 is 299. Why do u say cx 600 is unreliable?

Assume CDN, get this for gaming:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 3 1200 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor ($130.75 @ shopRBC)
Motherboard: MSI - B350 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard ($119.50 @ Vuugo)
Memory: Patriot - Viper Elite 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($86.49 @ Amazon Canada)
Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB GAMING Video Card ($329.99 @ Newegg Canada)
Total: $666.73
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Or you can split into 3 steps: 1) Get Ryzen 1600, MB and RAM, 2) GPU 3) extra 8gb RAM

just a question, why get 1600 if 1600x is cheaper in amazon. Right now 1600x is going for 249.99 and 1600 for 299. 1600x is at a discount. Also i have 212 evo cooler.
