Here is my situation. I just stress-tested my ryzen 3 1200 at stock speeds 3.1ghz in aida 64 and the max temperature reached 49c so my question is are these temps normal? And if I overclocked the CPU by how much would the temps increase and what cpu clock would i achieve?

Solution
49, are you kidding? Good temp! AMD guideline is 95 absolute max. Usually < 85 is considered normal when OCing under stress.

So 49c is a good temp for stock 3.1ghz?

Aida is not pushing the system hard enough. I say try prime 95 most recent version, some old version has some issues. Run it for 2 hours and if max temp is less than 85, you are good :) I will say yours is at limit. 86 or 87 is still fine, keep your voltage since normal usage will not stress system that hard. If higher than that temp, reduce voltage a little bit.

Excellent. thanks Vapour... 2 hours ??? ok I ran it previously for 15mins and thought that was sufficient and temperatures weren't an issue.... I'll do a 2 hour test later. whats the best fan curve setting, ive got mine sitting about 50% idle ramping up to 100% around 68-70c with the stock Wraith cooler. (4 set point curve on MSI mobo)
