i need help with psu!

700W is more than enough, will keep your rig quiet and will be enough headroom even with CPU overclocking too

Are you overclocking? How many monitors, do you always putting consistent load on the GPU and CPU? gaming only or productive uses? Case fans?
Please give us more info that would be a bit easier
Edit: also your cooler doesn't look like enough for your 3960X, do you check the temps at all? if the temps are over 80 (still fine but out of most people's comfort zone) changing your cooler would help too, good air or an AIO cooler should do the job
Edit2: Please provide us your budget too

yes, a high quality unit like the PSU's I listed can run a 7700k and a 1080 with the usual toppings.
your GPU 250Watts
your CPU 130Watt
system 120W high estimate to cover USB, HDD, SSD and any other powered parts not mentioned
500W total draw, 50W in reserve. all the units I listed are available in 650W or higher if that feels too close to you, the models are the most important, the wattage can change and still its a good unit

you will need a better cooler

Your pc does consume a lot more power than current-generation system
3960X is quite power hungry too
according to Tom's hardware review, which is very reliable
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/core-i7-3960x-x79-sandy-bridge-e,3071-19.html
Also the 780Ti is a power hungry card as well, in some occasion does pull more than 3960X
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-780-ti-review-benchmarks,3663-17.html
so if you're overclocking 650-750W will be a very safe spot and leaving some good amount thermal and power headroom for your PSU, PSU requires enough headroom to perform at full capacity efficiently.
If you're NOT overclocking 550-600W is enough, again considering getting enough PSU for both powering your rig and leaving enough headroom is important. If you're not putting very heavy load 550-600W is enough like I said before.

FYI the EVGA G2 750W unit has a 10 year warranty just like the RM*50x. if your going that high on the wattage the G2 may be a cheaper solution then the RMx with the same warranty

Seasonic 750W 10yr warranty

you do not want this unit. Older model CX750m with the green on the label is a hard pass - lower quality - avoid

For the PSU go for reliable brands
Seasonic/Corsair/SilverStone/Antec/Super Flower/XFX/EVGA/FSP
That's pretty much all of the reliable brands out in the market, Seasonic provide quality over the board both cheap and expansive PSU is great, Corsair (CX/TX/AX/HX/RM) series, Silver Stone(Strider series gold/titanium, SFX series), Antec (EA/ Edge 1,2/TP) series, for XFX and EVGA stick with more expansive models, since they rebrand their PSU from Seasonic, FSP and other company, Super Flower go for (Leadex Silver/Gold/Titanium) series

Silverstone
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/HHx9TW/silverstone-power-supply-st70fpb

Seasonic
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/zTdqqs/seasonic-power-supply-ss750am2

FSP
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qxcMnQ/fsp-group-power-supply-hg750

EVGA (EVGA units are rebranded super flower)
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/zWcMnQ/evga-g2l-750w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-220-gl-0750-x1

Corsair
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/f4W9TW/corsair-power-supply-cmpsu750ax (rebranded Seasonic)

Antec
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/sdCrxr/antec-power-supply-edge750

Super Flower

These are basically top quality PSUs, expansive? not sure about you, but PSU is the most important part of the rig, takes care of your whole rig, reliadble PSU is a must, especially your rig pulling high power, you need a very reliable PSU to keep it safe, stable and your rig will run for many years, and PLUS you can use the same PSU for your new rig if you decide to sell your current rig and upgrade in the future, 700-750W is more than enough to power ANY current gen rig since newer architectures doesn't pull a lot of power like old gen.

I don't really have any knowledge on customer's service and warranty on each brand though.

Good Luck!

Edit: Also be careful about your CPU temp, your CPU does runs hot and your current cooler doesn't look like it will cool your 3960X enough, you should change, unless you check your temps and the temps are OK

I understand its made for LGA2011, but your CPU 3960X does put out a lot of heat, and that small heatsink and 92mm fan no heatpipes but directcontect technically won't put the heat away good enough, try downloading a CPU temp monitor program?
Try SpeedFan or HWIDmonitor
https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor-pro.html
https://www.techspot.com/downloads/547-speedfan.html
Report me the temps (Both Idle no programs running and while you're gaming), I'm a bit curious how that cooler is going to perform on your 3960X since letting CPU runs hot all the time is not safe and sure will shorten the CPU lifespan.

that cooler was made for those CPU's 130W TDP I would still not overclock the CPU with that one. overclocking will push the TDP past what it can dissipate.

it should be okay, be aware you are on the thermal edge with that cooler though, keep it and the system clean.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Arctic-Cooling-ACFRE00004A-Freezer-i32-120mm-CPU-Cooler-/332113440177?epid=1950400855&hash=item4d5380edb1:g:k4wAAOSw5VtZ1-s3
this is more in keeping with the CPU. It can handle higher TDP (150W) and twice the cooling capacity (320W).
all that means is a quieter cooler fan even in the summer while dusty.

Air
Cheap and best value:
1.
2.Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED
3.Cooler Master Hyper 212 X
4.Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED TURBO
***Fan change or adding second fan will certainly help with the cooling performance too***
***You can buy ANY cpu cooler from Cooler Master 212 series like 212X, 212 LED, 212 LED TURBO, it will perform as good or better than the original 212 EVO ***

More expansive Air (if you don't want liquid cooler, or likes air cooler in general)
(both of these is very big, don't worry about fitting it in the case, most of the cases out there are wide enough for the cooler, but your RAM though, if your ram sticks are tall on the slots, it will interfere with the ram)
1.Cooler Master V8GTS
2.CRYORIG R1 Universal/Ultimate
3.Noctua NH-14/15
*******As much as I LOVE big air cooler, your board is MATX and bigger air cooler might interfere with both side of your ram slots********

Close loop Liquid cooler, or you call it AIO
osually 120mm (or 1 fan radiator AIO) have terrible Price-to-Performace Ratio
but here's some of the good 120 AIO in the market
1. H80iV2
2. Deepcool Captain 120 EX (Not as good as H80i V2 but if you don't have that big of a budget)
240 AIO (2 Fans) ***MAKE SURE YOUR CASE HAVE SPACE FOR 240 RADIATOR OR ELSE YOU CAN'T MOUNT IT, RESEARCH RECOMMENDED***
1. H100i v2
2. NZXT Kraken X61
3. Deepcool Captain 240 EX (Again if you don't have the budget for Corsair ones)
***I recommend you to change the stock fans that comes with the AIO cooler too, not necessary but will perform better if you do***

EDIT: TOOK OUT 212 EVO ITS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH 2011

Aw, I forgot you told you didn't want to overclock, BUT with your new PSU and if you change into one of the cooler I suggested you will certainly SAFELY overclock your 3960X

Edit: if you really don't want to overclock, the 212 Series from Cooler Master will keep your cpu cool enough

EDIT:********* JUST REALIZED 212 EVO AREN'T COMPATIBLE WITH 2011 I'M SORRY****************

I would pick a bigger 120 based cooler simply for the larger heatsink surface area , that chip runs hot but its a soldered die & has good heat transferral.

A bigger cooler will net you 10c lower temps & a fan running at half the speed.
That's never a bad thing.

Re - psu's ??

You stated going for a 700w ??

Issue is I can't actually think of a straight 700w model that I'd use .
Just about every decent quality PSU jumps straight from 650w to 700w with nothing in between

The only decent 700w models I can think of are the be quiet purepower silvers.

A good 650w is MORE than enough by the way.

Joseph - you missed the deepcool gammaxx 400 off that list , its a good cooler & generally cheaper than the 212's.

gammaxx 400 is actually pretty nice, I've heard a lot about that one wasn't sure about if it was compatible with 2011 at first though

There is no such thing as "reliable brand". They all sell goods and bads. Most of them don't even make the PSU internals...

Also, you recommend a mixed quality of models, not "These are basically top quality PSUs". That Silverstone model is mediocre, that Seasonic is pretty good but not great, Same thing with that FSP, That Corsair is great except itis unavailable to buy, that Antec Edge is actually great, and the Superflower model is also great, but unavailable to buy.

OP, I suggest on of these two: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/zWcMnQ,64cMnQ/

there's such thing as "reliable brand" if the warranty, customer's service are good and as long as it performs good and doesn't explode the whole rig up (which is practically almost impossible) it is reliable.
