Good day to you all!

A friend needs to get some new stuff because his processor died! I have come up with two builds:
(We need a new MB and processor and some ram)

Build one (AMD);
GIGABYTE GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 (rev. 1.0)
AMD Ryzen 5 1600, 3,2 GHz (3,6 GHz Turbo Boost) socket AM4
Corsair 8 GB DDR4-2400 Kit
Samsung 850 EVO, 250 GB SSD

Build two (Intel)
ASUS B150M PRO GAMING, socket 1151
Intel® Core i5-7600, 3,5 GHz (4,1 GHz Turbo Boost) socket 1151 processor
Corsair 8 GB DDR4-2400 Kit
Samsung 850 EVO, 250 GB SSD

The main focus will be gaming. So what I've read the Intel setup would be ideal as most games won't use all the cores the Ryzen has to offer?
But on the other hand wouldn't that make the Ryzen more future proof?

It will be power by an existing Corsair TX550M PSU and we are keeping the GTX670 GPU.
