the last gaming maschine i bought was the old and now greasy ps3... and in 2017 i'm looking forward to treat myself with an updated gaming system.

i was gonna buy a 1200€ gtx 1080 / r5 1600 (prices are <removed> up here in austria) but then i saw that the new xbox x's specs and it blew my mind.

how do you guys feel about the new microsoft console and any reasons why i shouldn't spare my hard earned 600€?

the gpu on the xbox x is equivalent to a gtx 1070 so u are definetly wrong about that, also the xbox x costs 500€ ,the gtx 1080 Ti 730€ just on it's own and u would need to add a minimum of other 600€ to make it a full functioning pc...

i just think for the price the xbox x is an insane value system if ur only purpose is gaming, the only thing that holds me off a bit are the console game prices.

69.95€ for every new game, every time is a bit much.

The GPU in the Xbox One is a Polaris based GPU with 40 Compute units running at a lower frequency vs an RX480 with 36 Compute units running at a higher frequency.

A 1070 is a step above the RX480.

yes but that box gets huge boost because of optimization, a rx 480 no

An Xbox (or any console) is a great budget platform to play games on.
A PC is a platform that has exponentially more use and value than a console because it can do many things a console cant.

For one, you cant compare console hardware to PC hardware, thats not how it works. (That being said, its not a 1070 class GPU).
Two, If you want an Xbox then get one, nobody here needs to convince you what you want to spend your money on.
Three, are you really trying to compare a 1200 euro pc to a console? There is no comparison between the two, theres no point, they are not related in that manner.
Lastly, nothing will ever be a PC killer, PCs are not going anywhere, no matter what hardware is inside a console thats going to be irrelevant in 4 years anyway.

i'm here to listen to other peoples toughts on the subject matter and have a discussion , i don't WANT and xbox one x, i'm just analyising the possibilty of getting one.

and yes a console could be a pc killer if ur only intent was to game with with the system, of course once you have a pc your not gonna only play games with it but technically is definetly possible.

and "you can't compare pc hardware to console?" uh? why... is there a mystical barrier infused in the fabric of time and space that prevents such incredibly arduose endeavours?!

both console and pc can be used for gaming, both have hardware in them that permits them to run games, altough there is a slight difference in the form in which those hardware come in, at the core both are still the same, maschines that calculate 1 and 0 in order to render the image you have on your screen.

to cut it short, u absolutely can compare pc hardware to console hardware.

...

of course the comparison is not in fuctionality, that wouldn't make sense... the comparison is in gaming performance sir.

"would a gtx 1080 paired with a ryzen 1200 perform so much better that it's worth paying the extra cash for? "

of course in 4k and 1440p

Functionality and money always comes into the comparison.

If your entire life is 'games', and you have another system for doing 'other stuff', and if your desired games are in the xbox world....go for it.

However...if you only want one device, get a PC.
Can't write a resume, term paper, love letter, on an xbox.
