PC Crash after launching games.

So I was playing a hockey sim on steam and watching netflix while it was doing its thing and my PC fully crashed to a black screen. It would not let me on and I have fixed it with a chkdsk /r and an anti-virus scan in safe mode, however now if I launch the same game, or Counter-strike it crashes within 2 minutes, and the whole PC needs to be restarted. I have verified game cache and re-installed the games and the issue persists. I have updated my drivers for my GPU, I've run another chkdsk and it didn't show any corruption, I have made sure that my CPU and Memory% weren't at a high value, but at the time of crashing they were under 35% usage (5 and 32% respectively). It's been maybe 4 days since the crash so I don't think my HDD is dying, I have run memory diagnostics through windows and have had no luck. Anything else I should be trying before I bring it into a shop or is there anything else I can do? Also it's not all steam games, Day of Defeat Source works just fine for a long period of time, and the simulating game is less demanding than that. It's not Overclocked, info below Thanks ahead of time :)

GPU - GTX 780Ti
CPU - Intel i7 4790k
RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws 2x8GB DDR3 - 2133
Motherboard - RoG Maximus Hero VII

**EDIT** - I don't know what's going on now but my games are taking up much more CPU% than previously. Eastside Hockey Manager is now using up 40-50% rather than the 10 it usually does. Therefore I will be running a processor diagnostic tool by Intel to determine it's status. Information will be updated as it becomes known. Thanks again :)

If you run a video benchmark like Heaven does it crash? If you use a program like HWInfo you can monitor the temperatures of the CPU and video card. Another possibility is a failing power supply that runs fine until you place it under a load like your games.

So I ran heaven and it was pretty interesting. It ran at 20 fps on fullscreen extreme, but when I switched over to Borderless windowed like I usually play, it crashed after the 2nd scene. :/

Did you notice the video card temperature before it crashed?
