I would like to know if this is a good first build for under £500, that is just for casual gaming (I will be playing games like TF2, ARK, and Prey). Please don’t suggest other builds, just tell me if it’s good for the budget. (Also could you tell me if I need the CPU cooler.)

Thanks.

^ The ryzen is about 40% stronger on cpu performance so its pointless buying an a8-a10 when you're adding a 1050 too.

Dump the cooler & paste (the stock cooler is better) , change the PSU to the non modular version & you get a b350 overclocking board in for the same money.

Ok Ryzen 3 1200 it is then. I have also changed the graphics card to a cheaper 1050. Is that ok?

My brother has a A10 and hes uses it fine for single player games, editing his flash art (tattoos) and his pictures. His pc also has a GTX 960.

If its all you can afford its decent for now but it also allows you u to put a Ryzen cpu in due to the socket type.

My first ever build was a 720p build back in 2014, it had an AMD Athlon 750K x4 in it and a GTX 650, it did fine for £250.

I swapped the hard drive too , don't buy refurbished - a good brand new 1tb is far preferential to a refurb 2tb!!

Ok that sounds good I can just about afford a ryzen with the other GTX 1050, but a 960 is too expensive. Is the 1050 I have in the updated version good enough for low-high graphics on the games mentioned.

A GTX 1050 is fine for 1080p medium on new games but it will smashed a lot of the older games from last year and backwards.

Really if you worried about performance just wait till you can get a Ryzen. Thou you don't have to have all the best parts to use a pc for what you want. A mid range pc can be amazing if used for the right things.

Also when i single player games i'm talking Thief (new version), Elder scrolls, Fallout, Wolfenstein and blizzard's games which aren't that demanding but if its a game with lots of CPU intensive physics then the CPU will struggle compared to Ryzen.

Is this better?

^ you're ignoring what I've said about delivery charges mate.

At the minute your build is from 5 different sources, no matter what partpicker says that will incur £30+ delivery charges.

My build incurs 2 , one from amazon , one from ebuyer.

That said if you don't have prime delivery you can sign up for a month & get free amazon delivery anyway.

The corsair vs is awful quality by the way , stick with the CX/cxm 450!!

That constellation drive is a nas drive , it has over stringent power management which you do not want as an os & gaming drive.
Stick with the Toshiba I listed at a paltry £6 more, its as fast as a barracuda & as reliable as a WD blue in my experience.

That is totally fine mate for general pc use such as browsing the web, listening to music and playing singleplayer games and some light meta multiplayer games.

Thou try and get a more trusted HDD like Seagate or Western Digital as their safe bets.

Think of getting a small SSD in the future for your OS, main browser and one or two of your most played games then just have have everything else on a HDD. Not required thou, just a suggestion.

If your just a casual pc user then you don't need a expensive high rig.

Dont forget postage prices thou mate so it may be £20+ quid on top or something for posting it all over to you.

Ok K get what you’re saying about an SSD, and I’ve changed my HDD now anyway. Thanks for letting me know about it, and the info about gaming.

I looked but I’ve no clue where your PSU is from, it just says pricing is unavailable. And also your case doesn’t come up at all.
