Hello!
A month ago I've bought Genius SP-HF160 speakers. Ever since I connected them to my computer, I've been having problems with my PC randomly crashing (blue screen of death). There were multiple errors, like "Page fault in nonpaged area", "Bad pool caller" and some others I can't remember. At the beginning, the crashes were rare, but now my computer can't run for 10 straight minutes without crashing. When I disconnect the speakers, everything's fine.
The speakers have a weird way of connecting to a PC. They have an USB cable and an AUX cable, and BOTH have to be plugged in in order for them to work. USB cable is used for power, while AUX is used to transfer sound. I suspect this may be a part of the problem? Both the USB and the AUX cable are connected to the computer via extension cords, because the cables are too short to reach the computer and due to the general setup of my room, there's no other way to connect them to the computer. In addition, the USB cable is plugged in the USB hub and not directly in the computer because there are no more free USB slots.
When the speakers are plugged in, they always emit a slight buzzing noise which doesn't really bother me, but the noise seems to change its frequency when I'm scrolling with the mousewheel. You could be in my room with your eyes closed and tell when I'm using the mousewheel just by listening to my speakers.
I've never had this problem before while I using headphones or borrowed speakers. The OS that I'm using is Windows 10. Does anyone know of a possible solution to the problem or have some suggestions? Thanks in advance!
