Hard Drive Boot Problem

So, I planned to upgrade to a better hard drive so I unplugged the first drive for some reason. Now when I plug it back in there's that message that goes like "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key". The thing is, I set the boot priority to that hard drive but for some reason it still won't show. Anyone know what the problem is?

Thanks.

It's an HDD. This is my old drive that I plan to get rid of when I upgrade to a new one. I'll post a picture of the error in one moment. My SSD on the drive is also working just not the HDD

I may have a solution to this. Well that old disc that doesent work must be a "slave" and the new one as the "master". That will make the new one be the first that system will boot in and the old one that doesent work will be loaded later. If your lookinv to recover data this is a great choice. Also the message was there because your old hard drive might be damaged. If you took the good care of it after pluging it out then its too old.

Well the thing is the hard drive's only a few months old, and the new hard drive is a completely different problem (not compatible) so I'm have the new one unplugged

How many drives do you have in the system?
It's possible, that bootloader partition is not on the same drive, where OS is installed.
Try changing boot priority to other drives (if you have more of them).

When selecting the drive to boot from you may need to select UEFI safe boot for the drive. If its only a few months old and using Windows 10 it should be set up like that.

After toggling with BIOS I hit the restore defaults and it seemed to work (I don't know how since the only thing I've ever touched is the boot priority) but it seems to be working now. Sorry for any trouble caused.
