Hi guys,

I'm having a bit of a weird issue that I could use some help troubleshooting.

I have a relatively new system that I built earlier this year, and it's basically turning off suddenly when I play the Battlefront 2 multiplayer beta.

When it does, all the fans stop, and all the lights go off except for some standby LEDs and the motherboard RGB (which is set to cycle even when the system is off).

Also noteable is that I have to switch off the PSU (or unplug it) before I can power the system back on.

There's no warning when this happens - it's sudden and abrupt, like a power cut. It happens after about 10-15 minutes of gameplay.

Here are the specs:

  • ■ AMD Ryzen 1700X with Wraith RGB cooler (stock, no OC)
    ■ MSI B350 GAMING PRO CARBON (latest bios, 0902)
    ■ G.SKILL Trident Z RGB 16 GiB, F4-3200C14D-16GTZR, (D.O.C.P. applied, 14-14-14-34 @ 1.35 V, 2T command rate)
    ■ ASUS ROG STRIX-RX470-O4G-GAMING (driver version 17.9.3, factory OC)
    ■ Samsung SSD 850 EVO 2.5" SATA III 1TB
    ■ WD Blue 4 TB Hard Drive
    ■ Corsair RMx Series™ RM650x

Here's what I've tried so far:

  • ■ Updating the bios from 0805 to 0902.
    ■ Updating GPU drivers to Crimson 17.9.3.
    ■ Running FurMark 1.19.0.0.
    ■ Running IntelBurnTest v2.54
    ■ Running FurMark and IntelBurnTest at the same time.

The CPU runs at about 65 C in Battlefront 2, and 70 C when running IntelBurnTest.

The GPU runs at about 62 C in Battlefront 2 and FurMark.

Other threads suggests this could be a PSU issue, but I'm not sure why it only happens in Battlefront 2.

Does anyone have any other ideas or advice on how I might troubleshoot this further? The only thing I haven't tested yet is memory.

Thanks!
