Got this mobo in a cyberpower build with 5820k cpu, worked great for 17 months.then started to heat up during video editing to 49c,The hottest it ever got was 39c( I keep her super cool). It slowly came down in temp after finishing(normal I know).Next day on board audio crystal sound 2 sounded like crap.Day after that no post error code 03. Took it to my friends shop he said its the mobo and these things happen.Sent it to asus for repair(i hope) My question is : is this a lemon of a board?are the asus x99a boards good? She was a beauty when she was running. Now im afraid that when I get this thing back something else will go wrong.Should I go shopping now for a new board? Has asus become crap? Because I have ddr4 and 5820k cpu I will need to find a board that will fit both , if I have to get a new one.Tell me whats the deal, all intelligent comments are welcome.

Solution
asus is still the only MB manufacturer with decent QC.
* happens to any electronics. so just wait for it to come back and use it.

Yha shes back and working fine, but running slighlty hotter than she used to.average 37c when she used to be 29c, not pushing it.Thinking I should get a better cooling system,I have a asetek 550lc120mm cooler in it now.any better ones that you can think of let me know. Not super expensive, think under 100$. Have mid tower 2011 socket x99 chips 32 gb ddrr4

any over 50$ air cooler will do better job :)
i really don't like those "wannabe liquid coolers" CLC AiOs as they cost much more than air coolers, perform same or worse at higher noise.
as for the higher temps, check the bios settings. it might be a bit overclocked by default.

If by water cooled you mean AiOs, I despise them. they are just expensive useless wannabe liquid cooling :)
So when talking about liquid cooling, I like (actually I love) custom loops. but that's an expensive hobby.
As for the air, Noctua are my love in terms of performance and quality (their fans are simply the best). if your memory is not too tall, NH-D15 will do the job very well. though with a smaller ones there is only a couple of degrees difference - not really important.
High end Be Quiet coolers are also great.

Yah non , she runs about 37c at idle, she used to be at 29c to 31c.Replaced the front intake fan which was about 45 cfm and replaced with a 80 cfm both 120mm.No difference in C.So im thinking the cooler fan was put in wrong, cause it sucks now instead blows.Air used to blow out from back of case, now it sucks in.I have 3 intake fans in front.1 large exhaust on top.its a zalman hp z2 plus case.So i think she needs more exhaust then intake. The cooler is a sealed system asetek 550lc120mm cooler .Somebody said something about a push pin.I have no idea if it has that on the cooler. All your help is appreciated.
