yes,you can use it for storage,but its gonna be pretty slow being a 5400rpm drive.

And even if it did, then you run into licensing issues.

yeah,your definitely going to need an operating system.and get faster drive to install the os on or your going to be tearing your hair out as its gonna be slowww.i would opt for an ssd for that.
