I was debating whether to get the 7820X or 8700K, but I noticed the 8700K only supports 16 PCIe lanes. The GPU alone uses 16 lanes, leaving none left for PCI SSDs or USB expansion/network/sound cards, correct?
Specifically, I my setup so far is:
- i7 8700K CPU
- ASUS Maximus X Hero Motherboard
- GTX 1080ti
- 2 250GB NVMe Samsung 960 Evos (Separating so I don't need to buy all at once)
- USB 3.0 Expansion Card
Will I experience a PCIe bottleneck here due to the number of lanes used?
