Weird BIOS problem, please help??

MOBO: MSI Z97A Gaming 6

If i "load optimized defaults" while in bios then 'save and exit'. PC shuts down, then turns back on after a few seconds and posts to windows logo, at which point, it usually gets stuck (because of unexpected shutdown?), and will have to press reset button on case a few times.

I thought I had fixed it after fresh start (clean install) option in windows 10, clearing cmos (resetting everything to default values) and then reflashing BIOS... I was able to enable XMP and set system fans to smart mode- "save and exit"-- no problem!
Get into windows, do my thing, shut down PC, when I turn back on, I enter bios again, and this time "load optimized defaults". problem reappears...

Why is this happening? What setting are being adjusted to cause this issue?? What else could be causing this???

Thank you to everyone for your time!
Any input is welcome.

UPDATE: Weird possible fix, shut pc back down, intending to clear cmos again, and being an idiot, i forgot to flip power switch, and remove power cable, before removing mobo battery..
And as expected, cmos was not cleared, atleast in the normal fashion, as the normal promt (F1: run setup/F2: continue/F3: load OC'ing profile 1) did not appear, entered bios when prompted; apparently changes were reversed as xmp was disabled, same with smart fan, assume same for optimized defaults. Time and date were not reset though.
"Save and exit" problem gone.

make sure you have the newest a3 bios on the mb. when you flash the bios do it from inside the mb do it twice and do a full update not quick. if your using faster then 1600 speed ram see if it 1.5 or 1.65v ram. if it 1.65v ram you have to up the ram voltage. same if you have more then two sicks of ram. in the bios make sure efi and legacy boot is on. sometime some devices dont playh well with just efi boot. make sure sata ports set to achi mode.

Shit.. sorry, if you were reading that i accidentally, deleted response rather than editing- big fingers, small screen.
It is the newest A3 bios, got it directly from msi site, V10.3.
"Do it twice and do a full update not quick.". Do you literally mean to flash my bios twice?? "Full update not quick". How do you mean; like xmp- exit/fans-exit/so on?
I did update it from inside the bios using m-flash and fat32 drive.
RAM is g.skill sniper 2133mhz 2x8 1.6v. Doesn't xmp automatically set it to manufacturer specs, hence 1.6?? Or do you mean I should raise it even further?? If so, why??
It is set to UEFI+LEGACY, also sata mode is set to to ahci.
Also, check out update at bottom of main post.
Sorry about the confusion.
I really appreciate the response.
Thank you.
