my z170 m5 gaming motherboard... (MSI)

So I want to upgrade my cpu (currently 6600k) to a 4 cores/4thread, to atleast a 8 core and 8 thread. Now the 8700k requires a total new motherboard so that one has been put second choice. But I hoped that u guys could clairfy if maybe some amd chips would fit on this motherboard with the right amount of cores. ( I do know that the current MOBO is 6th gen which makes it proracly impossible)

Z170 can ONLY work with the intel 6th i3/5/7 6xxx generation chips* and the 7th generation i3/i5/i7 7xxx chips* after a flash with a sixth gen chip.
8th gen and AMD will not work on that motherboard.

*and any pentium/celeron derivatives based on them

I guess ill just have to buy a new mobo then...
