Yes, it's seems that all top end GPU prices are affected by cryptomining craze and what's even worse it affects pricing on next tier cards. AMD has started making Rx 580 specialized for mining and Nvidia will hopefully follow the suit if they didn't already.
That should relieve some pressure on pricing but top tier GPUs were always very expensive. I can remember mid '90s when a Matrox GPU used to cost several hundred dollars which is even more in today's money. Even before that, an ISA Hercules VGA card used to cost as much as rest of the computer.

Admirable
Pricing on the RX 580 (and by extension the 570 as well) and GTX 1060 (the 6GB version) are still affected by miners. They really should be around $230-240 for the GTX1060 and around $200-220 for the RX580 instead of the ~$50+ premium they currently command.

The GTX1060 3GB is considered released from miners grip with its memory size exclude it from continuing to be an effective mining card.

Otherwise a GTX 1050 Ti is a solid pick for 1080p.
