Solution Phillip Corcoran Oct 9, 2017 Updating the BIOS has the potential to "brick" the motherboard if it goes wrong, so see how your PC runs with that new GPU first. If it runs okay, treat the BIOS update as optional (ie you decide). I'd never advise anyone to flash the BIOS unless it was unavoidable (eg necessary to support a new processor etc).
