I've just finished building and setting up my new computer. My problem is that because my motherboard has onboard graphics I can't use my graphics card to display to a monitor. Is there any way to switch it to use my graphics card?
I got it!! It turns out I had to turn my onboard graphics on and then have my card plugged in. Then it changed. Thanks for responding and helping me!!!
Yes. Originally I connected the motherboard via vga to a monitor to set it up. Then I put the graphics card in and hooked it up via HDMI to a Visio TV. Although once I did I was unable to get a signal.
The monitor that I currently have set up is somewhat old. I can still use it since it does have a vga connection. Will the graphics card still work even if I plug the monitor into the motherboard. I'm new at this PC stuff so everything is new to me.
It would work, if enabling the multi monitor setting in BIOS, but then, why installing a graphics card, since not using it...
Does the graphics card have a DVI-I port? If not sure, what's the exact model of the card?
