I've got a 144hz monitor and I want to run it from my P57w V6 laptop. The laptop has HDMI 2.0, Mini DP and VGA and my monitor only supports its DVI-D (DL) for 144hz. When using a mini DP to DVI-D (DL) it uses my integrated graphics card (Intel 550) and if I disable my integrated graphics card it forces it onto the Microsoft basic display driver.

Are certain ports on the monitor locked to certain graphics cards or is this a software issue?

(Before anyone says it its not possible to link up HDMI to DVI-D (dl) due to the single link limitations)

Solution
What ports run off what video card would depend on the vendor of the laptop. Seems like your laptop has the DP ports connected to the intergrated video. You can check with the vendor support to check though.
