Intel Core i7 - 6700k (wanted to buy a 7700k but misclicked xD)
Asus ROG Strix GTX 1080
Asus TUF Mark 1 Motherboard
16gb DDR4 Ram @ 2400mhz
Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler
1tb Hard Drive
120gb M.2 SSD (OS Drive)
3 Internal fans

Solution
No.

Nothing in computers is "future proof"
Yours will be good until it no longer does the job for you.

Past that it is very good.
One selection I would change is the 120gb ssd. Many things want to go onto the C drive. Spend a bit more for 240gb.
Also, today, I would not buy a cheap ssd. Samsung performs better and has a better warranty.

Solution
As much as a system can be without spending excessive amounts of money.
(I would expect in about 3 years you COULD still be gaming without issues but no one can see into the future and by then you may have to turn the graphics settings down.)

In reality, I agree with geofelt. You can't claim anything is "future proof" in the computing world.

The 7700K would have been better.
The 1080 Ti would have been better.

But there's also higher level; even more expensive consumer parts...
The best you can get on the consumer side:
Intel Core i9 7980 XE
nVidia Titan Xp

(Specs can go even higher for the enterprise level CPU's and GPU's. But most consumers aren't willing to drop that kind of cash on a PC though.)
