I think my CPU died.

So yesterday my Computer had some problems with the CPU. After hours of checking, i found out that it ran at around 96C to 105C degrees. I looked into the Pc and the Termal paste had a big burned hole. While cleaning it up , a little bit of the paste landed on the chip site, not in the middle but on the shiny things arpund it. I tried cleaning it with petrol (idk how you call it) until i saw nothing of it. I build in a new Fan too, and started the Pc. But now it wont do much anymore. It starts for less than a second and turns off again. No boot sound no nothing.

So the question now is... Is the Cpu dead or not?

I cant tell which specs are built in, all i know is that its a Intel I5 3??? is and the power not a problem is as we disconnected everything and the pc still didn't start.

Solution
It's not really possible to damage CPU just by cleaning it from paste. It might have died before though.
Or, did you connected a CPU power cable (it is 4 or 8 pin cable, depending on motherboard, and should go somewhere near CPU socket)?

As ot turns out, I forgot to plug in the CPU cable.
....
Well but as my defense: The new fan is like 4 times bigger than my old one and it covered it completly...
but i still feel like a total idiot.
