Cores are going above 80 degrees Celsius.

I didn't get a chance to play over the weekend and saw that a new driver had been released from GeForce. I don't know if that's the reason why I have sudden FPS drops, but I've been trying to figure out why it's happening all of the sudden. FPS drops from 100+ to 20s when mortars go off in PUBG or in team fights on OW. I haven't changed anything since I last played on Friday when everything was fine. And yes, in-game overlay is not on.

I'm using the ASUS 1070 GeForce GTX dual fan, i7-6700K, with the X52 NZXT cooler, 16GB of RAM, and a MSI Z170A Krait Gaming MOBA. Using two monitors, one is 144hz and the other is 60hz.

I've uninstalled the drivers with DDU and reinstalled them a couple times, but no luck. My GPU fans don’t spin either, but I’m not sure if it’s always been like that. My core temps are reading at average above 80+ degrees Celsius, 90s while in-game, if that helps also. Which I’ve been told is absurdly high. I’m leaning towards it might be a thermal paste problem or cooler, not GPU based anymore. All my fans work too. Any tips?

That looks like your pump is definatly NOT working otherwise you would have had a pump RPM speed come up...You need to replace immediatly..even if only temprary solution by putting a CPU cooler even stock on instead of the NZXT... Hopefully others will confirm but that is what it looks like has happened. Where have you connected the Pump lead to? which fan header i.e CPU or CPU Opt?
Does sound like your CPU cooler...Though have you checked task manger to see if there are any processes hogging a lot of CPU resource? Also the Asus 1070's fans do have a silent mode so only spin up when a certain temp is reached so I don't think it is your card.

If you are okay with it, it is worth checking to see if the CPU cooler is on properly and just reapply thermal paste..One last thing, Actually second thing after checking task manager, check the X52 to see if the pump is working. You should be able to get a reading on the pump speed in Cam software or Hardware Info..

I checked the Task Manager and it didn't have much running on my computer. It was either at 0% or 1% when I'm idle or on the web. Thanks for that tip on the 1070, didn't know that!

I'm at work at the moment, but when I get home I will check those things. What if the X52 isn't working as intended? Should I clean it out? I can't find any videos on how to clean it but I'm assuming it's like any other AIO where you unplug it from the radiator and clean the inside with water.

It's understandable if I have a bunch of programs going on and it's at 90 degrees, but having it sit idly, opening a browser or maybe checking my core temp shouldn't be automatically bringing it up to the low 90s.

Hi Mikeytrip...Unfortuanatly you cannot clean the X52 as it is a closed system..If the pump has failed then that is the end.. You will have to get another one..Or use whatever you have at hand...Hopefully that is not the case. When you get a chance, first check the speed of the pump. As an example, my pump runs at around 3100RPM and I can see that by looking at Hardware info which shows CPU Opt fan speed as that is where my pump is connected to on the motherboard.

If the pump has failed, i would have thought that the temps would go beyond 90/100 degrees and automatically shut down the CPU, but as it is still booting and allowing you to use the PC, it might just be that it is not on properly...moved somehow. Fingers crossed it is something much simpler and not a pump failure...though pumps do fail..

Just checked today, sorry was working yesterday. My fan RPM is sitting at 1240 and my pump RPM is sitting at exactly 0RPM. Fan Speed is 55% and Liquid Temp is 54 Celsius.
