No signal to monitor after upgrading graphics card

I've been digging through the internet to find a solution to this, but have yet to find one.

I recently upgraded my Dell XPS 8700's graphics card to a GTX 1050 Ti Windforce OC 4GB. I can plug my monitor into the integrated hdmi port, but it won't work with the ports on the video card. I've tried putting my old card back in, but it still gives me no signal.

I've updated my BIOS, made sure the power cables were plugged in, and tried disabling the integrated graphics, but nothing has worked so far. I've tried to update the NVIDIA drivers that were given on the website for the graphics card, but it said the hardware I had wasn't compatible.

I'm quite new to modifying computers, replacing the graphics card has been the first time I've ever even opened a computer.

That being said, any ideas on what I can do?

Nope, just a black screen. It doesn't show windows loading at all.

It says EFI for my bios. I don't think it's dead, because the graphics card I was using before this gave me the same error when I put it back in. Although I did bump it against the case when I took it out for the first time, so maybe I broke it.

I guess I'll try getting a replacement if I can't find a solution.

Well, I fixed it. Not really sure how this worked, but hey.

I uninstalled the existing NVIDIA drivers and then installed the new ones while the HDMI was plugged into the video card. If I didn't have it plugged into the card, it wouldn't detect the video card at all and would've said the hardware wasn't supported.
