Hi,

I was wondering if you could help me with a question I currently have regarding my rig. Currently, I have an MSI GTX 1080 GAMING X 8G graphics card in my rig. I was wondering if my current Power Supply could handle the addition of a spare MSI GAMING GTX 960 4GB graphics card or if I would need to get a larger Power Supply to accommodate it.

Computer specs are below

RAM: 32 GBs Corsair Vengeance 240-Pin DDR3
Graphics Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING X 8G
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD
HDD: Seagate Desktop 2TB 3.5-Inch HDD SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache Internal Bare Drive
Processor: Intel Core i7-4790K Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 4.0 GHz
Motherboard: MSI Gaming Z97 GAMING 5 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s
Power Supply: EVGA - 80+ WHITE 600W ATX 12V/EPS 12V

Let me know if you need any other information. Thanks for the help!

Solution
It really depends on if you will have the extra GPU under load. If just using it for an extra display for YouTube or something it won't be under very much load and will only consume a small amount of power.

On the other hand, the 600W White from EVGA is one of their very low-end units. You have an expensive GPU and CPU. I would recommend you invest in a good quality power supply to keep your system safe.

If you give me an idea of your budget for a new PSU I can give you some solid recommendations. I recommend at least $60 budget, but if you can go higher there are even better quality units available.

Sorry for leaving that out! Yes, it is the 80-Plus White power supply. Thanks for your recommendation!

No, it won't handle it.

You would need a Good Quality 750W PSU.

I recommend the Seasonic Focus 750W.
