I have Spectrum, and it's supposed to run at 70MBPS, but i barely see it go over 5... is my router outdated? or is spectrum just shit?

Contact spectrum. It might be the best bet for getting what could be a complex issue solved within the week - maybe something went wrong on the installation end if you just switched to spectrum.
