i have no ssd.

now my problem is..i am playing dota 2 ..when the game starts i have a stable fps of 60..but when team fight starts i drop down to 30-50 fps..is my cpu bottlenecking? ij ust want a stable 60 fps.

Solution

The short answer is yes. But how much will depend on the game, the settings, and (if gaming online) how busy the server is. But you should still verify with something like Afterburner if you have CPU bottleneck now and if so, how bad. No sense making it worse with a faster card for more money.

Probably, yes. On a busy server the CPU has a lot more work to do compared to say single player mode. The APU is a bit weak in that respect. And the FM2+ platform doesn't have much upgrade from where you are.

If you have stuff going on in the background while gaming, that will rob clock cycles form the CPU too. Disable as much as possible when gaming.
Might want to run a Malwarebytes to be sure there's no poorly written malware sitting in the background hogging clock cycles too.
Probably wouldn't hurt to give CCleaner a run just to clean up junk files, registry errors, software conflicts and the like that can slow things down too.

Yeah... is the game running off of your graphics on the A-10 7700k? Make sure your 1050 is the card it's running off. I can't imagine that CPU is causing a bottleneck in Dota with a 1050... especially at that resolution.

If you go into device manager and click on display adapters, does it only show the 1050Ti? Is the GPU new? Do you have problems in any other games?

Also, your video cable is plugged into the GPU and not the motherboard, right?

The reason I ask, is that that performance is pretty close to the benchmarks of the APU on that chip. It should not be bottle-necking a 1050ti.

See these benchmarks - https://www.anandtech.com/show/9287/the-amd-a10-7700k-and-amd-a6-7400k-cpu-review/3

Do you play any other games? Problems with those? Is the GPU new?

What did you have before? How did it perform?

Go and download EVGA precision. Once installed turn on the OSD and your GPU use. Then launch dota and see if the percentage of use on the card is staying low. If it is, it's likely not functioning properly. It sounds to me that you'll have to RMA the 1050ti.

Keep an eye on CPU usage and GPU usage when the fps drops like that. Use something like MSI Afterburner's OSD to watch usage. If the CPU is reaching 100% usage, it is giving all its got. The FM2+ platform doesn't have much more of an upgrade path for the APU or CPU. Here is the CPU support list for your board. You might get a small bump with the 880K since you don't need the integrated video. Or get the 7890K if you want the iGPU.
