I’m currently using a gigabyte z170 gaming k3 mobo for my pc but it went dead, I’m planning to get a new mobo with the same brand gigabyte. I installed os on my ssd and kept the data on my hdd, if I reinstalled the motherboard does that mean I will have to reinstall os again on my ssd and my hard drive data will gone forever???

PS
Please help, thank you very much

If you use exactly same model of motherboard, you don't need to do anything - it will work fine. If you use different model, even if same type and manufacturer, you will *most likely require fresh OS install. Even that, however, does not imply data loss - as everything on HDD can be kept intact (however any applications installed on HDD will have to be installed again).

*most likely - because you can try to go without it, but the chance it will work without problems are not good
