Hello all;

Recently (2 weeks ago) just bought an AMD 9590 FX processor and installed it into my pc, but since then I've had a recurring issue where my computer will freeze and just lock up, stopping power supply any peripherals, the monitor and my speakers. This issue does not appear to correlate with any particular programs or timeframe as my pc has frozen on Chrome, Elite Dangerous, KSP, and others. I have tried to find a solution but I have been unsuccessful so far. If anyone has a solution, please let me know.
Thanks in advance :)

System Specs:
AMD 9590FX (previous was AMD 8350FX)
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 R5 with the bios version at F2
Corsair H100i water cooling system (core temp barely reaches 50C)
16GB RAM
Corsair RM 750x power supply.
Windows 10 (I also have the option to boot on Windows 7)

"Support" was stretched to taffy-like proportions for the 9590, quite possibly AMD's worst consumer CPU product ever. If lowering the voltage doesn't work, underclock it to 8350 levels and consider it a lesson learned (putting any more money into a 2012 platform would be throwing good money after bad).
Unfortunately those 9590's aren't a good idea. They require a lot of cooling and a lot of power. Too bad too, but that goes back to the FX architecture. If possible, try to return it, maybe get an FX 8350 instead, which would perform similar, but not be quite as bad on power. The 9590 is essentially a very heavily overclocked 8350.

The better choice would be a switch to AMD Ryzen or intel Coffee Lake, but I know how tight money can get as well.

Just saying I need a different MB as it cannot deliver enough power to the processor is not really a solution. The processor is listed as supported on the MB and the figure you produced, I have been unable to find so if you can provide a source then I will be happy to consider your suggestion.

If Im correct in thinking the VRM is the kind of futurustic looking bit to the left of the processor? If so then there are no fans on that. I currently have 4 fans working with the liquid cooler as outtake, and 2 on the front as an intake.

With regards to the processor I have already passed on my 8350 so I am unable to reinstall that.

Today I have been running W7 (to determine whether there is any software/driver related issues) but that is indeterminate as so far.
