2nd hand gtx980 for 171$ good deal?

My friend is selling his gtx980 msi 4gb to me for a buddy price of 171$ only...i was planning to buy a gtx1060 6gb but will cost me 100+$ more....is this a good deal. He got the card around 2015.

I think it's a good card, coming from a friend who takes care of his things and isn't trying to rip me off, but just doing a nice thing without losing much, yeah good deal, I'd buy. From someone I trusted, have to hammer that home.

Used anywhere else, nope, I'd waste $100 more for 3 years warranty.
