This started happening while I was trying to replace my old graphics card with a newer one. To begin, I turned off and unplugged the power supply. I removed the old graphics card and placed the new one in. After everything was plugged in, I tried to power on my system but none of the fans spun, and there was no POST beep. I followed all the steps in this post :

I had also unplugged all the other components except the CPU, RAM, and power supply, and was still unable to boot. checked the voltages on the power supply and everything seems fine there. I also tried replacing the CMOS battery and resetting the CMOS using the jumper pins. I'm starting to think that I might've accidentally shorted my motherboard during the card swap, but I'd like to know if there was anything else I could try.

Motherboard: Asus P87ZZ-V LX
CPU: Intel i7 3770k
RAM: G.Skill RipjawsX 16GB
PSU: OCZ -ZT750W
GPU(old): EVGA GTX 570HD
GPU(new): NVIDIA GTX 1080

Thank you

Solution
When you upgraded the GPU, you are better to do:
1) Use the old GPU, use DDU uninstall the old GPU driver in safe mode first. Shut down the PC, switch to the new GPU, install the new GPU driver.
2) If that does not work out, try update the BIOS with onboard iGPU, then try the new GPU again.
3) If you still have problem, either the old OCZ PSU or the new gtx1080 has problem.
