Should I upgrade to an i7 7700k + DDR 4 3000mhz or an i7 8700k (motherboards included) for the same price

Right now I have an i7 3770k OC'd to 4.4 Ghz and my ram is 2x 8GB (16GB) 1333 Mhz with a GTX Strix 1060 OC'd. 1080p 144hz
PS: The DDR 4's are 16 GB

8700k is the way to go if you want to build a pc, i understand the urge :)

Either gpu will do, perhaps maybe 1080ti, will just have to look at benchies in the games you want to play to determine that.

Still i think your current cpu is still very capable and wouldn't bottleneck any gpu you get really. Not enough to justify the cost of a new setup but if that's not an issue and you want to build a new pc go forth albeit probably not necessary with your current setup.

I would be looking at the new 8700 one to get the most gain out of this. The power consumption is drastically lower making it a more efficiënt CPU and overall performance is a lot faster as well.

I'm thinking of a GTX 1070 or RX Vega 56. Which would you choose?

I personally would consider gains/costs and looking at this nice side by side: http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1070-vs-AMD-RX-Vega-56/3609vs3938

I see both have their merits but the difference are in my opinion so close its not worth the 150 euro's extra. Maybe some other benchmarks with the specific games wou will be playing may convince further.
