I have tried to install the hard drive but it didn't show up in my device management or disk management but it wasn't showing in the BIOs. I installed Paragon drivers and Seagate Disk wizard but that didn't help and i still can't see it to format and create partitions for it. i have made sure that my sata cable is working and the ports are working by plugging another hard drive that i had and it was working fine. i have also tried plugging the hard drive in an external enclosure case but that also didn't help and i still can't see it. in addition i have tried to plug the hard drive in some of my friend's computer - it was an old computer with windows vista installed - and they were showing in the disk managements just fine but i wasn't able to format it and that was the only computer that could show it in the disk management, i have tried multiple other computers and it didn't show up.

System details:

- Dell XPS Tower SE 8910
- Windows 10 x64
- ( the hard drive i'm trying to install ) x2

I find your first sentence to contradict itself. "didn't show up in my device manager.... but it wasn't showing in the BIOS".

Did you mean to say "was showing in the BIOS"? or "and wasn't showing in the BIOS"?

If it's not showing up in BIOS and you've tried another drive on the same power/SATA connections, it's certainly a bad drive. If it is showing in BIOS, then perhaps it's something else. Does disk management allow you to initialize the drive? Does it appear with correct capacity in BIOS/Disk Manager?

Modern Seagate drives are junk in my honest opinion. Consider yourself lucky that you learned this lesson now rather than after filling them with important data.

Sorry for that typo, i meant “ it was NOT showing in the disk management but it WAS showing in the bios with its correct capacity. In addition, i bought two hard drives and both had the same problem so i don’t really think they both can be bad drives.

Yes i have tried to plug another drive in the same SATA and it was working fine!

As I mentioned before it doesn’t show up in disk management to start initializing it
