New Ryzen build - 3200 RAM runs 2133 (MOBO: Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3)

Hi everyone,

I just finished assembling my new computer, and are having a bit issues getting the full performance. I haven't owned a PC for quite a few years, so excuse me if the answers are obvious. I don't really know what to look for My RAM seems to only want to run at 2133MHz. If I enable the XMP profile, the computer goes into a beeping loop for a few minutes until it boots.

-Can anyone help me me how to set up this system to achieve max performance from my RAM?
-Can anyone help me what to set to get a mild overclock on my CPU, without going too crazy?

Setup is: Motherboard: GIGABYTE AB-350 Gaming 3
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Cooler: Stock AMD
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LED Red DDR4-3200 DC - 16GB (CMU16GX4M2C3200C16R)
GFX: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1060 AORUS Xtreme - 6GB
PSU: EVGA 650 GQ

I have exactly the same motherboard and run principally the same RAM (no LEDs).
With the latest BIOS (F9) I can run the RAM stable at 3066 MHz.

What you need to do:
1) Update the BIOS.
2) Set RAM timings manually to 16-18-18-36, for both channel A and B.
3) Set RAM voltage to 1.45V.
4) Set RAM speed to 3066 MHz.

Then you can play around and try to change the speed/timings/voltage until you're satisfied with the result.

XMP is only a potential setting for ram to run at 3200. Every ram is different, how can one setting be good for all rams? Don't worry. You just need to manually set DOCP settings written on the ram. For example:

I used exact same setting on ram, someone may increase VRAM voltage, but don't do it unless necessary :)

Ryzen and Ryzen motherboards are very picky with RAM choice but your Corsair Vengeance should be ok with Ryzen.

The first thing I would do is upgrade the BIOS. It's VERY important on Ryzen motherboards because they are constantly fixing RAM issues. After that try setting your XMP profile again. Remember if XMP profile 1 doesn't work, try profile 2.

If it still doesn't work, try setting your speed to 2933 instead of 3200.
