I havent kept up to date with the pc community in a while and I know lots of new good cards came out. Im trying to upgrade from a r7 240 and my friends tryna go from a gtx 730, idk, some really out of date card. I was wondering if the 1050 ti will do us any good. Its cheap which is what scares me. Will we see a good performance difference? I dont want to waste my money or make my friend waste his. Is it worth it? We're also not trying to buy something really overpriced. Just something that is low budget and letting us enjoy playing games at 60 fps.

A GTX 1050 Ti from an R7 240 or from a GT 730? Yes! Definite increase in performance.

GTX 1050 Ti compared with an R7 240 (~400% increase)...

This is a test comparing a GTX 1050 (2GB non-Ti version) with the two current GPUs you have (the 4GB Ti version will perform better than that):
