I need some help with my PC build upgrade (I am very new to the idea of building your own PC)

Alright so I have multiple questions regarding my issue.

My current PC consists of these parts:

Motherboard: Gigabyte B85M-D2V
GPU: GT 730
CPU: i5 4460
PSU Rhino rx-500pa (220w)
RAM: 4gb of ddr3 (1600mhz)

I bought these parts brand new and had a friend assemble them around 2 years ago.
Now Im a little more interested and informed about building PCs and I want to upgrade it.

I wanted some new parts that would let me play games at 1080p at 60fps or higher and I've decided to buy these parts:

New GPU: GTX 1060 gigabyte g1 gaming (6gb version)
and a new stick of RAM (8gb of ddr3 memory).

I've realised that I am in need of a more powerful PSU for the new parts that I will buy (I've already had issues with my current PSU) and I decided to go for the ThermalTake PSU 530W Smart SE PSU.

I am not sure what model case I have but I know that it is by ASUS. (Sorry for any inconvenience that this might make) (I could provide a picture of my case if you would like to help me)

Now the questions I have are following:

Can I pair a stick of 8gb and 4gb RAM to create 12gb and will it work?

Will my new GPU and PSU be able to fit my case?

and is this PSU that i chose good enough for my build. (By that i mean is it of decent quality and is 530w going to be enough for my build)

I really need answers to these questions of mine and would be very happy if you could answer them.

Solution
If the 8gb stick works(chances are less than 100%; I guess 85%) you will have 12gb.
the matched 4gb will work in dual channel mode and the odd 4gb will be single channel mode.
Not a big issue, intel with discrete graphics is not ram speed sensitive.
Consider buying a 2 x 8gb compatible kit and using the old 4gb as a spare.

On the psu, it looks to be a standard but low power ATX psu of uncertain quality. Tier 5 perhaps.
Fit of a new psu should not be a problem.
Good you are thinking of replacing it.
Try to buy a 450w or better tier 1 or 2 unit from a list such as this:

Seasonic is always good.

They may or may not. But 8gb will be enough for your purpose. Buy it and try, if 12 is no good, you can still do 12

Measure your case and check with GPU/PSU specs

530W is enough but that brand is no good. For budget building, get Corsair CX550M or Seasonic fully modular, whichever is cheaper.

Get the same RAM spec wise and it has more chances of working than a different one.
You have not listed the case, so there is no way of knowing what will fit.
That PSU is garbage. I wont trust my brand new card on that. More often than not when a PSU smokes it tends to damage other parts. Get a decent quality unit like Corsair CXM or Seasonic S12II/M12II above 400w.
