Hello I have an Astro A40 and an A40 Mixamp Pro, having problems getting the mic to work. I would figure it's due to some error on my end but my understanding from searching the internet is that it apparently doesn't fully support operation through PC applications on Windows 10, basically the mic won't work through the amp no matter what on Win10 though audio is perfect and high quality as I'd expect. Everything I searched on Astro's website and elsewhere regarding this says I need to buy the Mixamp Pro TR. I do not know why the previous mixamp wouldn't work with 2 way audio but honestly I feel like just defaulting to onboard sound instead.

I have done a firmware update on the Mixamp pro, and have reinstalled audio drivers. Audio & microphone did work perfectly on Xbox One when used with the controller attachment.

I am able to get the microphone to work by plugging directly into the pink port BUT there is no audio and there is no 2nd slot on the headset since it's intended to be used with the Mixamp. I've never been one to care much about audio outside of when playing through single-player RPG stories/immersive open worlds, I love stuff like Witcher 3/TES/Fallout/GTAV, current setup works fantastically for those but I want to be able to use voice chat with my friends when playing online multiplayer.

I just want basic level functionality for online play and applications like Discord. I don't particularly care for enhanced audio during online play, I'm not very interested in competitive FPS but mainly want to play for social reasons. I know I certainly do not want to spend cash on a TR Mixamp to resolve this and I'd greatly prefer not buying a new headset just for multiplayer/Discord. I've just built this PC so there are quite a few games I'd like to buy & I need a couple more PC components. One RAM module didn't work(long story) so I plan to buy a fast new 16GB kit and I want to buy an NVMe 1TB SSD like a 960 EVO so a Mixamp Pro TR or new headset would feel like a waste of money. I'm also thinking about playing World of Warcraft but not having a working microphone would be a big issue when raiding, a lot of groups don't want to bring people without voice communication.

I just tried it on an old junk laptop running Windows 7 and it seems to be working. Seems to be a Windows issue.

Well how strange, I did do that stuff a little while ago when I was trying to fix this some time ago. I tried it again and it works perfectly! IDK it might have been because I was using built-in Admin account at that point when setting my PC up. Now I'm back using a regular account, wonder if that may have made a difference(even though it doesn't make any sense). Who knows?

Anyways thanks!
