I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place to start this thread.

I'm having trouble connecting to my NAS - HP Mediasmart - with Windows Home Server Console (I realize both are old but they've woked for me.. )

The NAS can be seen on the network. I can run/add/remove anything on.

But I run WHS, log in, and it thinks it's turned off or not on the network at all.

Any help or point in the right direction would be appreciated.

It is because of this website that I was able to build my first Gaming PC.

This place is awesome.
You are all awesome.

Thanks.

I am just retiring my v1, and thinking about upgrading v2011 to something more modern....

So, you say the server is serving files, but you can't connect to console (which also uses remote desktop, just on application level). To be honest, I've never worked with head-less WHSs (and for what I know, HP' MediaSmart is), so I can't think of anything but finding that famous adapter board which will let you connect a monitor to your MediaSmart.
I'm still running WHS on a PC I built for it about 7 or 8 years ago. There's 2 things I can think of to try. First, have you tried rebooting the NAS? Second, try uninstalling, then reinstalling the WHS Console/connector on your PC.

Hey hey. Yeah..
I've hard-resetted the server.
And I've also re-installed the console and connecter (using the msi file) the the server itself provides.

I also did try to remote in.
That didn't seem to work either. I can't remember presicely what had happened..

I believe that It loaded tremendously slow and then connection dropped out with an ominous error message..

I have the first version. I do not have v2011.
