i have an msi z170a gaming m5 motherboard a corsair rm650x psu a gtx 1060 and an intel core i5 6600k but what i mean is i have to force it down into it really hard and when i turn the psu on it doesnt work at all my pc wont turn on or anything so i put the power cable that came with the supply in for the meantime but all the cables i got from cable mod work accept the 24 pin cable and its only the end of the cable that plugs into the psu it goes into the motherboard just fine

on the psu side the cable have two parts but they converge into one connector the psu has a 28 pin hole but my cord has 24 pins and i looked at a picture and it looked like each connector piece matched with the connector hole in psu and on the motherboard side it is 24,do you think cable mod maybe messed something up?also the smallest of the two parts that go into the psu goes in fine its a 10 pin the other 14 pin is the one i am having troubles with.

yea but i got cables compatible for rm not rmx thats why it does not work

His PSU and original cables doesn't have 10+14 pins, it has 20+8 pins.

He told me he has 10+14 for the mb, so I assume that. He is getting correct PSU cables now :)

He said his new cables are 10+14pins which will not fit into his RMx PSU as it uses 20+8 pin, I know cause i have one myself ;)
