Hello, so I'm going to purchase myself a new case and I'm going to have to rebuild the pc obviously, and I don't think you have to format as long as the sata cables are in the same port.. Am I right or am I wrong, for example my SSD is in port 1 , does it have to stay in the same port or what.. It's not like I want to change the port but not going to memorize them where they were If I don't have to. Thanks!

Solution
port should not matter as long as other pieces will not change. If you change MBO or CPU you may have some problems with DRIVERS If you have multiple boot discs you may need to go to BIOS and set which one will be primary, but if you have 1 then without config you can swap ports.

just go to bios and make photo of what dics is boot. Then recreate it if by any chance bios will fuc.. it up (it really shouldn't).
