Asus b250m-a prime motherboard won’t boot - no display off hdmi - is there anyway to flash bios to support kaby lake without a sky lake cpu?

Solution
Yeah, that CPU would need a 313 BIOS. But unless you ordered a board 6 months ago or bought it from a small shop where it could have sat for 6 months, I don't believe you have a problem. The oldest publicly available BIOS is 316 and was released in January 2017. Is it POSSIBLE, yes, just unlikely IMO.

The CPU support page for that board -- https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/PRIME-B250M-A/HelpDesk_CPU/ -- shows either a 308 or 313 BIOS for all supported CPUs. The downloadable BIOS list doesn't even go that far back, it starts at 316. If you just bought this board, I don't think you have a BIOS problem.

The CPUs that weren't supported in the 308 BIOS are Pentium, Celeron and i3 CPUs. What CPU are you trying to use?
