What's up guys!

I'm planning on upgrading my memory from 4gb to 12gb of ram for 3d rendering/sculpting purposes. However, I am hesitant for the reason that 4gb + 8gb won't work. Could you please help me? Thank you!

Here's the details of my current 4gb ram:
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 4gb 2133mhz ddr4 CL14

Motherboard:
MSi H110m pro-vh plus

8gb ram that i wanted to buy:
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8gb 2133mhz ddr4 CL14

My conclusion is, this should work. Given that the ram are both ddr4, CL, and mhz. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hoping for your quick response/help, guys. Thanks again!

If timing are same as well as fsb speed then it should not be any issue to run two different sized RAM.
However it is recommend to run a kit in dual or quad channel config because they are tested to work together.
In my older Intel system as well as new Ryzen system which is very sensitive to memory, it works fine with two different ram having same timing. However RAM manufacturer never recommends this.
So if you are not very serious and just to increase RAM then you have 99% chance that it will be ok.

Thank you, AniChatt!

Ok sorry to make things complicated. First check the full spec of your older ram,
Speed: e.g. 1600Mhz
Recommended CAS values: 14 14 14 32 ......
If these two values are same for both the ram you are ready to go. but keep in mind manufacturer will not take any responsibility if it does not work or any other stability problem if you encounter. So I would recommend to buy it from any store where you can return it. install this new ram and run memtest86 for at least 12 hrs.
For older RAM install any hardware info program like HWinfo or CPUz to get this vaule

Just to add why I am telling this, When I upgraded my ram from 16gb to 32GB G.skill tech team told me that it may not work and you have to buy a 4 channel 4x8gb or 2x16GB kit for this. Since I can not throw my current FlareX which are very expensive so I decided to test it with two different kit same spec memory module and no one in any forum told me that it will work 100%. but I have not encountered a single issue and it works fine in exact same setting the older 2x8gb kit was working. But again it is not recommended.
