Heya. I cleaned out my computer from fat and dust yesterday, with isopropanol, pressure air and q-tips. Its not the first time Ive done this, but ut was awhile ago and Ive had some cooling issues. Left it to dry overnight, and when i plugged it in, it coughed while starting, and is always on now if it is plugged in. Power buttons are unresponsive, i get no monitor signal. My assumption is I fried either the motherboard or the PSU, but im not sure how to go ahead with the diagnostic. Is there some way to narrow it down before busting out the multimeter?

But the computer does start? Your power button might be making contact when it is not supposed to. The power button is supposed to be momentary only making contact while u press it.
A silly advice: try turning your computer on and pulling the power plug from your button to your mobo imediatly after starting and see what it does. You can also try and clean/check it first. If you try that make shure you dont pull or touch anything else!
Anyway if you damaged something it will probably be the mobo. You can test the psu on another pc if u have the chance.

I live in a really old house with shitty ventilation. Grease from frying in the kitchen stays in the air and builds up layers of greased dust everywhere over time. Real bother to keep clean. Believe me, if just the compressed air were enough I'd be ecstatic.
