Hello,
I bought a used computer 4 months ago with specs mentioned below.

SPECS:
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6800K CPU @ 3.40GHz, 3401 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 64.0 GB
NVIDIA Quadro M4000 8GB

(Tell me if I've missed anything https://imgur.com/a/RUPxt)

Everything worked perfectly and it was running smoothly with no problems. I was playing a lot of World of Warcraft back then, but I think I slipped a few League of Legends games in there too.

Anyway, about a month ago, I went on a trip for a week and thus I left my computer shut off for a week (I don't know if this has to do with anything, but I'm mentioning it regardless). When I came back, my PC started crashing after playing several hours of World of Warcraft with multiple pages open in Google Chrome and youtube videos playing in the background. This was only a minor problem though, as it only crashed every few hours, and this only happened to me once or twice.

But now, I've quit World of Warcraft and started playing League of Legends and the first time I played it, my PC crashed within 2 minutes of playing the game with both of my monitors running at 144Hz and running with a youtube video one one monitor, playing League of Legends on the other.

Now I try to only play with one monitor at 144Hz and nothing open in the background, and the game crashes at least 6 times an hour. Then I tried turning down the Hz to 60Hz and 60 fps in game, and the game still crashes more than 6 times an hour. When it crashes, typically either the screen glitches out a few moments before, like the pixels go all over the place, and then it crashes, or my screen just straight up freezes, I can't do anything but wait for it to restart itself (happens 50% of the time) or shut it down manually myself, if it doesn't restart itself. Rarely, it crashes and then my screen either goes black or a dark blue kind of color.

Currently, I've only experienced League of Legends crashing this frequently, nothing else.
It's noteworthy to say that my GPU when running World of Warcraft is around 65+ degrees celcius (according to Open Hardware Monitor) and when playing League of Legends, it is about 55 degrees celcius (again according to Open Hardware Monitor.)

Oh and also, this happened: https://imgur.com/a/3twE6 . I've been googling a bit and to my understanding, it's something you're supposed to ignore. It's also removed from my Open Hardware Monitor list now https://imgur.com/a/UDN2o.

I have tried a LOT of stuff but all to no avail. Here is a list:
- Resetting my PC. In hopes of fixing the problem and possibly also removing any viruses that may be causing the problem, I reset my PC ENTIRELY through the built in Windows 10 "Reset this PC" and "Remove everything", and when it finished, it said something along the lines of "Your PC has been reset but we couldn't remove all your personal files. If you plan to give away or recycle the PC, try resetting again." I did not reset my PC again as it looked like my PC was new and fresh and I didn't imagine any viruses would survive a PC reset.

- I've run the built in virus scanner, "Windows Defender" and I have found no viruses before and after the reset.

- I've run the Virus & threat protection quick scan just now, no viruses found

- I've updated and reinstalled my drivers multiple times, including DirectX, again to no avail

- I've stress tested my computer with IntelProcessor Diagnostic Tool 64bit and it passed in every field.

- I've scanned my computer with Windows Memory Diagnostic, but I left it overnight and when I woke up to check on the computer the next day, it didn't tell me anything about any errors or nothing.

- I've tried reducing my maximum processor state to 60%, no avail

- I contacted microsoft support, and he told me that there was a fault when I installed windows, so I basically had to just reinstall windows, which I did with a link from the microsoft representative, but again to no avail.

- I contacted microsoft support again, and she told me that it was most likely due to my processor overheating, and that I needed to apply thermal paste to it. Before the new application of thermal paste, my processor was rocking a 60-80 degree celcius temperature (according to Open Hardware Monitor), and after the replacement of the old thermal paste and the application of the new thermal paste, it's rocking about 30-50 degrees celcius when crashing.

- I've asked my dad for help (he is usually pretty good at this stuff) and he hasn't found any solutions either.

- I've googled almost the entire internet and can't find any solutions that have helped me.
- And lastly, I'm fucking furious that my 13" Macbook Air is able to run League of Legends at 60 fps, and this PC which supposedly is 4x as good is not able to. I just went on holidays and I want to be spending it playing games, not trying to fix my PC. Any help will be taken by heart and much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Nicholas

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I'm using two of these monitors: MSI 27 Curved 144Hz

First you should update your BIOS:
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA2011/X99-A_II/X99-A-II-ASUS-1701.zip
You'll need a USB thumbdrive for that. A blank one. Extract that file and copy it to the blank USB and then enter the BIOS and run the EZFlash utility from the tools menu, see your motherboard manual for more info. (page 3.11.2):
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA2011/X99-A_II/E11090_X99-A_II_UM_WEB.pdf

Then I want you to try reinstalling windows from a fresh copy. The built in Reset option can be corrupted.
You'll need a USB Thumbdrive(8+GB) OR DVD burner and blank DVD.

Unplug any non essential peripherals (no printers or wifi/bluetooth adapters, ect. Keyboard...

What is the difference? Doesn't a workstation card work for gaming. Could you elaborate a bit more on that, please? And what do you suggest I do, buy a new gaming GPU? How do I tell the difference. Thanks for replying though. If what you're saying is true, you've been a great help.

I bought it off a Danish website called DBA. It's pretty much ebay, but only in Denmark. The person I bought it from this site, though you can't pick the exact specs I have anymore since the site has updated to newer PCs only and made it unavailable to buy previous builds. https://www.mm-vision.dk/nvidia-quadro-dtp-760-arbejdsstation

Look up some youtube videos from Linus Tech Tips about the Quadro. Might help you understand the difference.

The hardware is actually pretty much the same but drivers related for the Quadro lean more towards video editing etc... not gaming. That means you are most likely missing out of gaming patches etc... that you would otherwise get with a gaming card like a 1080...

That is really the only difference. The hardware is the same, in fact the Quadro actually has a little better specs then more cards of the related types. It all boils down to driver support.

Sorry to say, but it still crashes. It crashed twice during the first 10 minutes, and then I gave up after that. First, it just went to a gray screen with nothing else, but the computer still running. Second time, the screen froze like all the other times, and it just stayed frozen until I manually restarted it... What do I do.. :(?

First you should update your BIOS:
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA2011/X99-A_II/X99-A-II-ASUS-1701.zip

Unplug any non essential peripherals (no printers or wifi/bluetooth adapters, ect. Keyboard & mouse only)

Then after you've reinstalled windows, I want you to download and install only these drivers and in the order I give you:

1. Chipset:
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/utils/MEI_Consumer_V11051189.zip
Restart the computer after installing the driver.

2. LAN:
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/lan/Intel_Gigabit_Ethernet_Win7-81-10_V205510_V2051500.zip
Restart the computer after installing the driver.

3. Audio
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/audio/Realtek_Audio_V7848_20160617.zip
Restart the computer after installing the driver.

4. USB
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/usb30/Asmedia_USB3_V116351.zip
Restart the computer after installing the driver.

5. SATA
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/sata/IRST_Win7-81-10_V14801042_316.zip
Restart the computer after installing the driver.

6. Grahpics Card
http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/125782/en-us
Restart the computer after installing the driver.

With ONLY those installed, now you can try playing LoL and see if it crashes, don't install any other special drivers for like your keyboard or mouse or printer or webcam, ect.

Hi James,
I am very thankful for your long and thorough answer. I really appreciate all the time you've put into helping me. With that said, I have done what you told me to do in the exact and correct order. I updated my BIOS with a clean USB drive like the way you told me, I reinstalled windows 10 from a fresh copy like you told me, and when I had my clean and fresh PC with a fresh installation of windows 10, I installed all the drivers in the order you stated with a restart in between each installation, except for the SATA driver as I had this error message when trying to install it https://imgur.com/a/ZoODZ , and after googling for a bit, I found out that I had to change some settings that I did not have in my BIOS. I entered a League of Legends game with my monitor running at 60Hz to try and minimize my GPU usage, and my game crashed within 2 minutes of playing. Again, I appreciate all the time you've put into helping me, but I'm sorry to tell you that is has been to no avail.
With that said, I'm still looking for fixes or explanations as to why my PC can't run it, if any of you have any. Right now I'm looking at writing a message to NVIDIA and League of Legends support for any workarounds and replacing my NVIDIA Quadro M4000 8GB with a GeForce GTX 1080 8GB as someone mentioned above that I had a GPU for graphics design and not for gaming. Let me know if you think this will fix anything or recommend me something else. Thanks.

Regards,
Nicholas

Well, one final thing to try, is to take out the Quadro m4000 and plug your monitor into the motherboard's graphics ports.
Your CPU has integrated graphics that are powerful enough to run LoL fairly decently (on low settings).
If it still crashes without the GPU in there, it's probably not the GPU.
You can try another game as well, as it could be LoL that's having the issue with your hardware.
The main problem with your GPU is it's much more expensive than the gaming equilvalent, and doesn't perform "as well"... at all...
It's only about as good as a gtx 960 for gaming, which... is fine actually but a GTX 960 costs $200 and a m4000 costs $750.

How do I go around doing that? I don't see any where I can put my cable in. Can't find any tutorials on google either. Would you be so kind to guide me through how to use my CPU as a graphics card? Thanks. :)

Nicholas
