Google "tinned copper vs bare copper". Limit the search to one year or so.

Then you can objectively make the decision as applicable to your requirements and environment. Details matter.

My suggestion is to re-examine your premise: "don't like the flat black design".

Do you already have some other just black PSU extension cables? Your post seems to imply "yes".

Wire color does not effect function.

Unless there is some specific and objective issue with "flat black design" extensions" skip the matter. Use what you have.

But if the need is otherwise you should be okay with 18 AWG stranded (color not functionally relevant) as the resulting cable, with the proper connectors, will be more flexible.

No my PSU has flat black cables like most either they come with ketchup and mustard or flat black I am making a 24 pin and 2 8 pin extensions. Also I am asking because most if not all of the guides I have seen use tinned copper and not full copper stranded wires I was just wondering if there would be any problem with the wires being full copper stranded and not tinned copper stranded
