Hi, trying to install different cpu and cooler fan in my PC. Already got the easy cpu part out of the way. My issue is with the baseplate. I removed the motherboard in order to install the new baseplate for the cooler. But, the old stock cooler that came with the prebuilt PC also had a baseplate attached, and i cant figure out how im supposed to detach it. Seems like its attached with adhesive, but dont know how to get it off. Thanks

Solution
It very well could be. Dell for one uses strips of sticky tape on their backplates. But it will help if you state the make/model of the pre-built system as well as post a photo of the backplate on the back of the board.
